The Surfin' Birds were going to disband, but in the bubble of lockdown, brothers Liam and Paul Sharod rejoined forces and returned to their sonic-primal garage band roots with the aim of reigniting the band with new music. They played any and all gigs offered to them, sometimes four in a day, and all money went towards building their own portable DIY studio. They met budding bassist Bob at a jam and clicked instantly with his encyclopaedic knowledge and mutual disdain for the slickness of modern production. After summer 2022, with nearly 40 gigs under their belt as a trio, they began recording. Blue Room, named after the band the brothers' parents formed in the 1980s, is the amalgamation of thousands of hours of hard work, endless experimentation, and an honest reflection of the band's raw, infectious energy that has captured their audiences time and again.
